In Aviation Safety: You Just Can’t Predict the Idiot Factor

Posted on 23. Apr, 2009 by in Featured

Sometimes someone does something that is so absolutely stupid, it cannot be accurately factored or even predicted. Right on the heels of a near air disaster in Australia, a man deliberately flew a scale model at an airliner, causing another near miss.

Why? Apparently his motivation was to get hits on You Tube.

It missed an airliner full of people by 30 meters, endangering the lives of all onboard. My favorite part of the video is when he zooms in on the cockpit of his crashed model; clearly showing his name. You just can’t fix stupid, it goes clean to the bone. Apparently he is a Postal worker in Australia; it gives a whole new meaning to “going postal”.
