It is official: a Major International Airline expects its employees to work for free!

British Airways, one of the world’s largest and most prestigious airlines, is actually asking their employees to work a month for free. No doubt executive bonuses will not be affected. If a company cannot survive if it pays its employees, then it should shutter the doors. This is not a startup company with the inherent risks (and potential gains) associated with a new business. This is one of the world’s oldest and most established airlines. If the business model is that broken, shut it down. The government should force it out of business, not prop it up temporarily to drag the rest of the industry down. End it. Shut it down!

For those who “voluntarily” participate, no mention of an “upside” or bonus later, not even a stock option. What’s next: pay to work? This should help worldwide pilot recruitment; the best and brightest will be lining up for the aviation industry:

Spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on your education and you, too, can work for free!
